Hell, Michigan
Back in 1841 whiskey stills were operated here on the banks of a small stream. This notorious place soon became known as H E L L and the stream became H E L L C R E E K. Some years later a dam was placed here and the beautiful meandering H I - L A N D L A K E was formed.
My mother always makes a big production out of trips to Hell, Michigan. Of course, with the price of gas now at $4.26, most of Michigan could be really called Hell.
