Arthur M. Anderson Freighter


ARTHUR M. ANDERSON
One of the largest freighters of the Pittsburgh Steamship Division is the Arthur M. Anderson. Its length is 620 ft. and its capacity is 19,500 ton. Here it is loading ore at the Two Harbors Docks which are the fastest loading docks in the world. Verage loading time is 3 hours and 15 minutes.

See the largest Viking in the world in Alexandria, Minnesota, :The Birthplace of America."This statue stands 28 feet tall and weighs more than 12,000 pounds. It accompanied the famed Kensington Runestone to the New York World's Fair in 1965 and was then brought to Alexandria, where it now stands at the north end of Main St. and calls attention to the Runestone Monument nearby.

Mora's Dala Horse


This 25-foot rep0lica of Mora, Sweden's famous handcarved Dala Horse stands just off Highway 65 at the fairgrounds in Mora, Minnesota. It was constructed and decorated in authentic color by the Mora Jaycees, and presented to the community as a civic symbol

Minnesota: Land of 10,000 Lakes


MINNESOTA is our 32nd State (1858) Capital:St. Paul. Name derived from the Sioux Indian, meaning sky-tinted water. Its 10,000 lakes are said to have been made by Paul Bunyan's Blue Ox Babe.Longfellow's famous poem The Song of Hiawatha tells of Minnesota's waterfalls that "flashed and gleamed" and rivers that rushed through palisades of pine trees."
