Lincoln's Home


ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S HOME
SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS
This home, the only one Mr. Lincoln ever owned, he bought in 1844 for $1500; he later enlarged it to its present appearance at a cost of $1300. This is the original structure (built of native hardwoods with wooden pegs) in which the Lincolns lived until Mr. Lincoln became Prewsident in 1861. Here sons Edw., Wm., and Thomas were born. Home is at northeast corner of 8th & Jackson Sts.

John F. Kennedy Memorial Forest


KENNEDY MEMORIAL FOREST
St. Louis, Missouri
A part of Forest Park was set aside in memory of the late President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated on November 22, 1963. The marker in the picture is one of 4 placed in the area of the Forest where special plantings are being made as a part of a "living" memorial to a beloved man.
