 Brigham City, county seat of box Elder County, was first settled in 1851, just four years after the first Mormon pioneers arrived in Utah. It was incorporated in 1867, 27 years before Utah was admitted to the Union. Altitude 4,439 feet.

LARGEST VIKING IN THE WORLD

Alexandria, Minnesota

See the largest Viking in the world in Alexandria, Minnesota, :The Birthplace of America."This statue stands 28 feet tall and weighs more than 12,000 pounds. It accompanied the famed Kensington Runestone to the New York World's Fair in 1965 and was then brought to Alexandria, where it now stands at the north end of Main St. and calls attention to the Runestone Monument nearby.

Daisy Avenue Christmas Trees

LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA

Early in the Christmas Season, these live Christmas trees are trimmed with lights; figures telling the Christmas Story are placed around the trees  trees and in the parkway; and choirs sing sacred songs . . . while visitors drive quietly by with dimmed auto lights to enjoy the beauty of the scenes. (Daisy Avenue between Pacific Coast Highway and Hill Street.)

 

Key West, Southernmost City

This sidewalk vender is displaying his wares on a sidwalk in quaint Old Key West. The beautiful Queen and Broad Lipped Conch Shells he has on display will be souvenirs for some lucky tourist.

Upwards of 20,000 spectators line the streets to enjoy this annual event which has a different theme every year.
