STORY OF THE MOHAVE TRAIL
The great MOHAVE DESERT ranges over 50 blistering valleys and wind scarred hills. In ancient geologic time great chains of warm lakes was linked by the Mojave River. The area supported a life of tropical verdure and roaming prehistoric animals. Today the road follows the dry Mojave River, passes numerous small desert towns, rises several times over low mountain chains and crosses over cracked mud flats and dry lakes.
