Highest and Lowest Points in U.S.

THE U.S.A.'S HIGHEST AND LOWEST
Death Valley National Monument
Strange as it may seem the highest and lowest points in the U.S.A. are only 80 miles apart. Mt. Whitney to the west of Death Valley has an elevation 14,495 ft. while a point near Bad Water is some 280 feet below sea level, this being the lowest point in the western hemisphere.

  1. Will not forget Death Valley. Left the car to walk in the sand dunes. Would be easy to get lost and not find your way back. It all looks the same. It was so hot by the time we got back to the car a bag of potato chips had exploded from the heat.
